“Oh, we don't call the town that anymore. Now that we have all this gold, we're calling it Stinking Rich and Happy Hill!”
Dustin Hoffmeier in "The Good, the Bad and the Tightwad"

Stinking Rich and Happy Hill, formerly known as Nothing Hill and Big Hill, is a town in a desert located on the western frontiers of Knighton.[1] It was the poorest town in Knighton before it struck gold.

History[]

Prior to the series[]

The town, formerly known as Big Hill, was so poor that they had to sell their hill and then became the poorest town in the kingdom, using tumbleweeds as food.

The Gray Knight[]

After being blasted away from the Fortrex by a powerful spell, Clay woke up in Nothing Hill with amnesia.

The Good, the Bad and the Tightwad[]

As Clay walked through Nothing Hill, several Cowbots saw him and picked a fight with him, but the stone knight defeated them effortlessly. Jorah Tightwad learned that Clay had amnesia and thus tricked him into thinking that he was his enforcer. Clay helped him force the citizens to sign over their land to Tightwad by destroying their houses, allowing the businessman to conduct mining operations in the town. After Clay regained his memories, he stopped Tightwad's scheme and forced him to give up the gold he mined out. Having received said gold, the citizens escaped poverty and even voiced their intention to buy their old hill out.

Krakenskull[]

Jestro visits Nothing Hill, now renamed Stinking Rich and Happy Hill, and met with Dustin Hoffmeier, before stealing all of the gold from the Dust Bank and escaping quickly.

Trivia[]

  • Its original name, Nothing Hill, is a play on the British town Notting Hill.
  • The town's appearance seems to be heavily inspired by the nineteenth century Western United States, a location commonly featured in the "wild west" genre.
  • Even though it's located on the western borders of the kingdom, the official map of Knighton doesn't show any desert region in the west.
  • A curious detail consistent in all of the town's appearances is that the skies over it are mostly clear, while the rest of Knighton is fully covered in clouds until Monstrox's defeat.
